Any one of us who ventures to sea can potentially face disaster at any time. When it happens, it's not like we can just pull off to the side of the road, call AAA, and have help there in 30 minutes. The frigid water temps can take our lives in a matter of minutes! As much as boaters dislike the inconvenience of Coast Guard "Safety Inspections" while recreationally boating, we have to realize, that when SHTF, these men and women risk their lives to pluck us out of harms way. In light of the Low Speed Chase disaster that happened last weekend during the Farallones Race, where one sailor lost his life and several more are missing and presumed dead, a FB page has been set up to honor the men and women of the Coast Guard District 11 and the Air National Guard Rescue Wing 129. District 11 and the ANG, spent hours searching for our lost friends, please go Like them, and send your appreciations for their exhaustive efforts in offering us sailors a last option when things go sideways.
Thank you District 11 and the ANG Rescue Wing 129!

These two vids are polar opposite in their philosophies toward sailing, yet there are many common threads between them. Enjoy the first SailRev video Friday!
